Bruno D. Ferreira-Saraiva
Assistant Professor DEISI · Universidade Lusófona, Lisbon
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Systems (DEISI) at Universidade Lusófona, where I teach programming and machine learning. I am also a PhD candidate in Informatics.
My research focuses on the relationship between interactions and collective phenomena in complex networks, combining Natural Language Processing (NLP) with the study of how participants coordinate in conversation. I develop open-source tools for analysing multi-party conversations, such as ParShift and LACE.
As a research assistant in a project funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, I collected and analysed data from online group debates to inform educational interventions that promote critical thinking, argumentation and attention to multiple perspectives. I am currently part of a lab working on the EU-funded project CresCine, which aims to turn audience data from the film industry into predictive and explanatory insights that support film production in small European countries.
